Alma Edra (Glanden) Cline

Alma Edra (Glanden) Cline, 90, departed this life on Thursday, August 5, 2021.  She is now resting peacefully in the arms of our savior.

Alma was born on June 11, 1931 at Baisden, she was the youngest daughter of 12 children born to the late Henry and Susie (Perry) Glanden.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her loving daughter and best friend: Marilyn Murphy; her first husband: Joe Huff, who was killed in a mining accident, and Jack Cline, her second husband, who passed away from cancer.

Alma was employed by the Mingo County Schools as a cook for many years.  She will be remembered fondly by the students who felt and knew of her kindness that she showed each one.  For over 45 years of her life, Alma was a faithful member of the Bethany Old Regular Baptist Church in Hanover.  She loved the Lord and lived her life in service to him.  Alma loved shopping trips with her daughters.  She also loved birthday celebrations and Christmas with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Joetta (Charles) Cline and Jackie (Eugene) Rife; her son-in-law: Edward (Marilyn) Murphy; grandchildren: Kevin (Jessica) Cline and Brandon (Melissa) Cline; her 5 great-grandchildren: Chase, Kaden, Brayden, Braxton, and Makinsey; she will also be missed by her special niece: Verna Faye Cline; her special friends: Marsha Hatfield, Alice Murphy, and Janet Gibson.

Friends and family may gather for a remembrance service on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Nagy officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden, WV. 

Alma will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

Alma will be remembered by her beautiful smile and her kind and gentle heart.
