Angeline Bassham Obituary

Angeline Bassham, 84, of Man WV, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House, alongside her daughter Paula, and brother Rick and his wife Vicky.

Born in Aflex, KY on August 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margie Bassham.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dora Leigh Deskins, brothers Paul Edward, Stephen, David, and Joe, along with nephew Paul Ed, nieces Becky and Stacy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Alan (Stephanie), daughter Paula Clark (Earl), two grandsons, a great granddaughter, sister Vickie (Ron), brothers Charles (Linda), Rick (Vicky), Tim, along with her nieces and nephews.

Angie was a graduate of Man High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing; she made her career being a Registered Nurse and worked at Man Appalachian Regional Hospital for over 30 years.  She took pride in her job, she was an excellent example, and although she may have not thought it, she played a role in shaping others and being part of their careers also.  After she retired from that, she became an in-home caregiver for several families which let her continue taking care of others.

She enjoyed being part of the Old Man High Alumni, the START senior group, was a Red Hat Lady for a while, loved to Read, Crochet, talk on the Phone, and enjoyed getting to Can vegetables in the Summer.  For the last 6 years, she was a resident of Hillcrest Healthcare Center and enjoyed receiving cards from all that sent them to her, the family appreciates the staff for the care they gave her, and for the kindness that was shown to her.

There will be no services, as she has been cremated. The family appreciates the love and prayers of friends and family, and ask that you remember Angie as the Strong, Beautiful, and independent soul she was, she will be sorely missed.
