Arden Hatfield, 84 of Coal Mountain, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on July 5, 1938 at Guyan, WV he was the son of the late Oley and Ruby (Morgan) Hatfield.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Katherine Hatfield; his brothers: James (Simon) Hatfield, Jack Hatfield, and Alonzo (Fletch) Hatfield; sisters: Mary Lester and Eloise Hatfield; son-in-law: Tim Martin; grandchild: Taylor Martin; grandparents: David and Effie (Christian) Morgan and Lewis (Luke) and Mary (Davis) Hatfield.
Arden was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He attended Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church at Coal Mountain, WV. He was an Army Veteran, who had served 2 years in Germany. Arden was a member of UMWA, he had been a boss for Island Creek Coal Co, he had drove coal trucks, he was also a dozer operator for Mingo Logan and had worked for M & H Trucking.
Those left to love and cherish his memories are his daughters: Judy (Rick) Faulkner of Asheboro, NC and Sheila (James) Jewell of Coal Mtn, WV; sons: Keith (Bobbie Joe) Hatfield of Asheboro, NC and Brian (Amanda) Hatfield of High Point, NC; his precious grandchildren: Chris, Nick, Brayden, and Mason Hatfield, Tyler Faulkner, Hannah, Jaime and Isaac Jewell; two great grandchildren: Luna and Grayson Hatfield; two brothers: Rondell Hatfield of Coal Mtn. and Alvin (Violet) Hatfield of Brier Creek; sister: Glenna Hatfield of Coal Mtn: sisters-in-law: Linda Hatfield and Teresa Wallace, both of Coal Mtn; special friends: Hub Morgan of Man, WV, Alvin Brooks of Archdale, NC, Jimmy Toler of Coal Mtn, and Harry Trent of Hanover, WV; his precious beagle: Katie. Arden also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church at Coal Mtn. Funeral services will commence there at the church on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Louis Collings and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in the Coal Mountain Community Cemetery at Coal Mtn, WV.
Arden will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
The family gives special thanks to the 4th floor CCU nurses, CNA workers and the Doctors at Logan Regional, who went above and beyond for our dad and our family.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
