Audrey Juanita (Blankenship) Elkins

Audrey Juanita Elkins, 86 of Hanover, WV departed this life Monday, March 29, 2021 from McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Gary, WV.

Born on June 21, 1934 at Hunt, WV, she was the daughter of the late Fernandos Nan Blankenship and Georgia Ana (Bowens) Blankenship Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Boyd Ward Elkins; sisters: Mary Ruth Thomas, Barbara Sue Belcher, Romaine Elizabeth Mitchell, Goldie Robinson; brothers: Leroy, James W, Clark G, and Junior (infant baby) Blankenship; sister-in-law: Macie Harless; brothers-in-law: Jimmy and Junior Elkins, John Dewey Glover

Audrey was a hard worker, she worked at cleaning and painting houses and taking care of children.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her son: Bill (Sharon) Elkins of Hanover; granddaughter: Stacey (Clifton) Blankenship; great grandson: Ryan Blankenship, all of Gapmills, WV; one special niece: Bonnie Richards of Gilbert; sister-in-law: Millie Glover of Groveport, Ohio.  She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Cecil Johnson and Rev. Michael Browning officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden, WV.

Audrey will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

She may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
