Autry “Jack” Clark Adkins, 86 of Hanover, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
Born May 20, 1939, in Iaeger, WV to the late Golden and Mattie (Carter) Adkins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Adkins; son: Jack Woodrow Adkins; brother: Austin Adkins; step-grandson: Thomas Tramel.
Jack was known for his love of old trucks and old music and for the old stories that he would tell. In his younger years he enjoyed taking the grandkids fishing. He treasured time with his family most of all and will be remembered for the love he shared and the memories he helped create. Jack was at his finest when he was in his garage.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife: Freda Browning Adkins; daughters: April (Chris) Jenkins, Miranda Evans of Sevierville, TN; son: Golden (Sherry) Adkins of Sevierville, TN; grandchildren: Patricia Braden, Shawn Tramel, Shirley Byrd, Golden Adkins Jr, Scott Evans, Jeffrey Stevens Jr, Gabrielle Adkins, Jack Jenkins and Jacob Jenkins; great-grandchildren: Logan Byrd, Jayden Byrd, Brystol Byrd, Justin Brouhard and Breanna Brouhard; brothers: Jimmy (Betty) Adkins, Tony (Treasa) Adkins, Allen Adkins.
To honor Jack’s wishes, he will be cremated.
