Barbara “Gene” Imogene Morgan, 91 years old, went to be with her Jesus peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Logan Regional Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1934, in Simon, “Long Branch” WV, to the late Nancy and Powell Cline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her by husband of 53 years, Charles Tucker Morgan; son: Forest Morgan; daughter-in-law: Wanda Morgan; grandson: Thomas Browning; brothers: Kermit Cline, Elton Cline, Mack Cline; sisters: Frankie Cline, Athelene Cline, Bertha Toler, Josie Blankenship, Yvonne Massey; and friend: Ruby Lester.
Gene grew up in a house full of siblings and love. She attended Long Branch School where she later worked as a cook. She married Charles “Tucker” Morgan (12-23-1951) in Long Branch, WV, and was a full-time homemaker and business owner of Morgan Sanitation. Gene was a Christian of the Holiness Faith. She enjoyed cooking dinners and celebrating holidays with her family and friends. She loved to spend evenings growing flowers and watching Living Faith television and TBN. Gene was a charitable godly woman that loved everyone. She was a people person “so to speak” and she cherished fellowship with the community and friends.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her sons: Joe (Barbara) Morgan, Paul Morgan, Rocky (Sue) Morgan, Randy (Sheila) Morgan; daughters: Lisa (Seth) Kennedy, Paula (Don) Gibson; grandsons: Quinton Morgan, Ricky Browning, Charlie (Melissa) Johnson, Eathan (Patricia) Stapleton, Chris Stapleton, RJ Stapleton; granddaughters: Josetta Morgan, Jolena Morgan, Nancy (Tom) Schmidle, Priscilla Mitchem, Maggie Hatfield, Sara (Richard) Browning, Erica (Chris) Blankenship, Felicia (Noah) Cline, and a host of Great Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren. Special friends: Rita Browning and Rick Morgan.
Friends may gather with the family after 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, and Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Upper Room Jesus Name Church, Simon, WV. Funeral services will commence on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Todd Kenneda and Rev. Brad Kenneda officiating. Burial will follow at the Morgan Cemetery on Long Branch Mountain, Simon, WV.
Gene’s wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
