Barry Brown Obituary

Barry Neil Brown, 67 of Holden, formerly of Greenville, WV passed away on November 22, 2022 from his residence surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

He was born on May 31, 1955 at Logan, WV to the late Wilford and Freda (Vance) Brown of Greenville, WV.  He was the first born of three children, and their only son.

Barry was an Army Veteran, serving from 1972-1974, after returning home, he started his career as a Coal Miner.  He worked in a few mines from 1974-1994, where he met many lifelong friends.  He enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing, riding around in the mountains, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his daughter: Jessica Brown (Matt Harvey) of Chapmanville, WV; his son: Michael (Evelyn) Brown, with whom he lived with in Holden, WV; his ex-wife Marie (Jimmy) McCallister, with whom he remained good friends with; his sisters: Carmella (Chester) Bailey of Accoville, WV and Cheryl Dye and ex-husband, Randy Dye of Greenville, WV; three grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Adalynn Harvey, Braxton and Kolten Brown; niece: Sarah (Jeremy) Noel; nephews: Jacob Bailey and Codye Dye.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no services and his remains will be cremated.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
