Betty Louise (Harmon) Browning

Betty Louise (Harmon) Browning, 84 of Gilbert, WV departed this life Monday, August 19, 2024, from Logan Regional Medical Center.  Born June 11, 1940, at Mallory, WV, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Pearl (Bowman) Harmon.

In addition to her parents, Betty is also preceded in death by her husband: James L. Browning; son: William David Lester; sisters: Billie Paynter and Virginia Laseff; brother: Homer Harmon; grandson: William David “Dink” Lester, Jr; best friends: Alice Williamson and Shirley Riffe.

Betty was a retired store manager, who worked different places in retail.  She enjoyed working with flowers, shopping, doing word puzzle books, going to the beach, and spending quality time with her family and friends.  She attended the Bruno Church of God, where she enjoyed being with her church family.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughters: Deborah Buchanan of Williamson, WV and Dreama (Douglas) Williamson of Verner, WV; sons: Leslie (Treena) Lester, Jeremy Dale (Jackie) Browning, all of Verner, WV; stepsons: James Larkin (Kim) Browning, Jr., and DeWayne Browning, all of Ohio; grandchildren: Douglas Keith (Summer) Williamson, Jr., Brooke (Richard) “Bucky” Thomas, Haley N. (Christopher) Johnson, Derek K. (Chelsie) Lester, Carey (Kayla) Lester, Leanne (Harold) Lively, Jr., Tabetha (Randy) Adams, Natalie Ellis, Josh, Kyle, Ashley, and Ryan Browning; great grandchildren: Preston, Hayden, Reese, and Whitlee Williamson, Bentley and Bryson Thomas, Macie and Hadley Johnson, Silas, Owen, Drayden, Emilee, Grayson, Brianna, and Josh Lester, Aiden, Dominic, and Carson Lively, Josh, Brooke, Landon, and Haley Adams, A.J. and McKenzie Ellis.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12:00 till 1:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Pastor Roger Frye officiating.  Burial will follow in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner, WV.

Betty will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.  

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
