Betty Jane (Smith) Gravely

Betty Jane (Smith) Gravely, 62 of Baisden WV, departed this life peacefully at her home Saturday May 11, 2024 to be with the Lord.

She was born on July 21, 1961 to Willie Smith Jr. “Junebug” and the late Rosetta (Cline) Smith at Welch, WV.

In addition to her mother, she was proceeded in death by her sister Helen Smith Boggs, and niece Shannon Smith.

Betty was a devoted Christian who Loved Serving the Lord. Through all the ups and downs, pain and suffering, trials and tribulations, her Faith was Never Broken nor Once Faltered. She was the kindest, sweetest, loving, caring, most hardworking, humble woman one could ever meet. She loved her Family and Church Family unconditionally, and always gave the best advice. Her Grandson Jase was the Light of Her Life. Not only was she a Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Friend, and Devoted Christian, she was a Beautician for many years. Serving the Lord, sitting at home reading the Bible with her husband, going to Church with her Family, helping others alongside her Church Ladies, and Family Vacations were just a few things she loved to do. She will be missed by all who knew her. Today, She Walks the Streets of Gold Rejoicing in the Name of the Lord saying, “Mommy Loves You”.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her husband Glen Gravely of 43 years, son Anthony (Nada) Gravely of Hurricane WV, daughter Jessica (Jerry) Gravely Walker of Man WV, grandchildren Jerod Walker and Jase Walker, father Willie (Ella) Smith Jr. “Junebug” of Baisden WV, sister Ruth Akney (Rick Harless) of FL, Nieces and Nephews Shawn Smith, April Walker, Brandon Morgan, and Ashley Browning Newton.  Special Friends Alisha Cline, Pandora Lester, and her Church Ladies.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday May 18, 2024, for viewing from 12:00 till 2:00 at the Freedom Full Gospel Church, Baisden WV. Funeral Services will commence at 2:00 in the Church with Pastor, Rev. Jonas Trent and Assistant Pastors Marvin Joe Bradford and Ralphy Manuel officiating. Burial will be at a later date where she will be entombed.

Serving as Pallbearers are: Anthony Gravely, Timmy Gravely, Denny Roberson, Ryan Gravely, Eric Gravely, and Tyler Gravely. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jerry Walker, Shawn Smith, Clark Cline, Dempey Cline, Conrad Cline, and Dwayne Cline.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
