Billie Jo (Gibson) Lockard, 64, of Delbarton, WV departed this life Friday, January 23, 2026, from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
Born December 4, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Willie and Addie (Dotson) Gibson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Patty Bradford and an infant sister Loretta Gibson; grandson: Donovan Ray Curry.
Billie was a devout Christian of 40 years, who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and wasn’t ashamed to let anyone know. She was of the Church of God Faith and attended The Varney Church of God. Billie enjoyed cooking, for she had cooked in the Mingo County school system for years, and she was known to make the best fried chicken in the area, she also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her loving husband of 44 years: John Lockard, of the home; her daughters: April (Jonathan) Dove and Beth (Teddy) Curry; her grandsons: Nathan, Eli, and Brian Curry and Gavin Dove; brothers: Bruce (Terria) Gibson, Dwain (Janet) Gibson, and Rick Gibson; her sister-in-law: Brenda (Jimmy) Cisco. She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends who she loved very much.
Friends may gather with the family Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where funeral services will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Endicott officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning Cemetery at Wharncliffe, WV.
Billie will be taken to her resting place by her family and friends.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
