Bonnie Kay (Pyle) Woolum

Bonnie Kay Woolum, 80 of Rockhouse, WV passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, just hours of her 81st birthday, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in the arms of her daughter Fran.

Born in Keyser, WV on June 11, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. Pyle and Hazel F. (Brantner) Pyle.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband: Hubert Woolum, with whom she spent many happy years until his passing; her previous husband: Curley Hatfield; sister: Frances R. Cupp; brother: Robert L. Pyle; sister-in-law: Dianne Pyle; granddaughter: Latasha Maynor.

Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her friends and family playing cards, bingo, shopping and eating out.  She loved stuffed animals of all sizes, but she really enjoyed putting puzzles together with her beloved husband Hubert.  Their passion with puzzles led to them becoming a notoriety from a newspaper article about their puzzle creations and the puzzle house.  Bonnie loved animals, she always had a dog, and strays always seemed to find her place of residence, for animals always had a home with her, her two favorite fur babies were Chloe and Teddy.

Bonnie was a member of the Justice Tabernacle Church where she enjoyed listening to the choir and soloists and hearing the message of the gospel.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughters: Fran (Mike) Evans of Mt. Hope, WV and Eva Pelphery of Oceana, WV; sons: Curley “Lee” Hatfield (Roberta) of Asheboro, NC, Allen Hatfield (Fiancé Edna) of Beckley, WV; granddaughters: Santana (Michael) Smith of Beckley, WV Kendra Osborne Hatfield of Oceana, WV, Beth and Ashley Hatfield of Beckley, WV; grandsons: D.J. (Adrianna) Fernatt of Denver, CO, Joshua (Katlyn) Hatfield of Asheboro, NC; 12 great-great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives, church family, and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12:00 till 1:00 p.m. at the Justice Tabernacle Church, Justice, WV where funeral services will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ravin Kenneda and Rev. Roger Browning officiating.  Burial will follow in the Woolum Family Cemetery at Rockhouse Mountain, WV.

Bonnie will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.

The family wishes to thank all the medical staff and support staff at Ansted Nursing Center, Plateau Medical Center, and Cabell Huntington Hospital for the care and support given to our mom and our family.
