Brenda Kay Brown, 78 of Traphill, NC departed this life for her heavenly home on Monday, July 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on October 15, 1943 in McDowell County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wetzel and Harriet Josephine (Taylor) Thomason.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Gary Brown, her sisters, Keitha Lester and Frances Burgess, and her sister-in-law Deborah Thomason and brothers-in-law Jimmie Boyd and Charles Icenhour.
Brenda was a member of the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church for many years and loved her church family and her Lord. She loved being with her family and loved her grandkids and great grandkids more than anything in this world. She loved being outside and Sunday dinners with her family.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are: her children, Andrea (Doug) Anderson, William (Jenny) Brown, Kandace Brown, her grand-children, Andrew (Chassidy) Brown, Annie (Steven) Draughn, Jacob and Ethan Brown, Noah Anderson, Kaylee Brown, Savannah Norman, Nathaniel (Jennynn) Hunt, Elisabeth Hunt, Rhett and Lillian Brown, Sophia, Hunter, Gary, and Braxten Draughn. Sisters Virgie Boyd and Amy (Travis) Hunt, Brother, George Thomason. Sister-in-law Peggy Icenhour, and a large host of nieces and nephews. Adopted daughters Lisa Boyd and Sarah Cline. Extended family: Larry Icenhour, Debbie Lockhart, Judy Cline, Sue Hurley, and Sharon Salyers.
Friends may gather with the family at Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church, Guesses Fork, VA on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm. Funeral services will at the church, beginning at 1:00 pm with Elder James Stacy and Will Matney of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Noah Justice Cemetery at Mud Fork, Bull Creek, WV.
Brenda will be carried to her resting place her family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff from Mountain Valley Hospice in Elkin, NC for their patience and huge hearts that have been full of compassion for Brenda and her family.
