Brenda Carol (Belcher) Kennedy

Brenda Carol (Belcher) Kennedy, 75 of Lexington, NC departed this life Thursday, October 12, 2023 from her residence.

Born on August 5, 1948 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Jean (Sexton) Belcher.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years: Rev. Woodrow Wilson Kennedy, Jr; son: Little Wendell Kennedy; daughter: Kimberly Kennedy; grandson: Woodrow Kennedy IV; granddaughter: Trista Morgan.

Brenda loved her babies, her moonflowers, and hummingbirds.  She also loved being near the water, especially the beach, and she was always giving everyone advice.  She enjoyed working puzzles, traveling, playing canasta and spending time with her family and friends.  Brenda felt that she had lived a good life for her time spent with her husband and all her family and friends.  She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her sons: Woodrow Wilson (Tonya) Kennedy III, Wendell (Kelly) Kennedy; daughters: Angel (Benny) Morgan and Haley Kennedy; grandchildren: Casey Kennedy, Virginia Cook, Cynthia, Nicki, Timothy and Lexi Morgan, Fatoshia Browning, Dexter, Zoey, Ava, and Delinda Kennedy; many great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend: Mary Ruth Thomas.  She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the Apostolic House of Faith Church after 6:00 pm at Foundation Fork, Simon, WV.  Funeral services will commence there at the church on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Todd Kennedy and Rev. Patty Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kennedy Family Cemetery, Foundation Fork, Simon, WV.

Brenda will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
