Carl Henry Wolford, 62, of Wharncliffe WV, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, peacefully at Logan Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
Born June 25, 1962, in Hurley, VA to the late Henry and Shirley (Hopson) Wolford.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his son: Carl Henry Wolford Jr; the love of his life for well over 25 years: Wanda Hurley; his sisters: Sharon Brewer, Nina Hatfield, and Jenny Daniels; his niece: Kimberly Breeding; his nephew: Chris Wolford.
Carl was a mechanic, truck driver and handyman for T&K Trucking for many years. He was the type that didn’t care to get his hands dirty to help with something that he could fix. He was one that his family could call on to help with something, no matter the time. He may have been a little slow getting there but he would always show up. He enjoyed fishing and he enjoyed watching Gunsmoke. He was just a simple man. It didn’t take much to satisfy him.
Those left to mourn his loss are his sons: Nicholas Hurley of Wharncliffe, WV and Gregory Wolford of Ragland, WV; his niece and as in his words, his heart: Kayla (Lee) Ellis and their boys Bryson and Kayson Ellis of Wharncliffe, WV; his brother: Theodore (Lori) Wolford of Gilbert, WV; his sisters: Bonnie (Bill) Gilkerson and Rita Cline all of Wharncliffe, WV. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 12:00 till 2:00 pm, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. Marvin Joe Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in the Colangelo Family Cemetery at Wharncliffe, WV.
Carl will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
