Carless Ray Wiley

Carless Ray Wiley, 80 of Baisden, WV departed this life Friday, April 17, 2026.  Born May 2, 1945, in Gilbert, WV, he was the son of the late Tracy and Elsie (Roy) Wiley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Wanda Blankenship, David, Calvin, Joe, Charles, Alice, and Louise Wiley.

Carless was a retired coal miner who spent many years working hard to provide for his family.  He was a simple man who found joy in the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, camping, and riding ATVs.  He was known for his sweet and kind nature, and he was loved by everyone who knew him.  He loved to hug and was always smiling, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met, he was of the Church of God Faith.

Carless is survived by his devoted and loving wife: Jean Cline Wiley of Baisden, WV with whom he shared many cherished memories of marriage, companionship, and unwavering love; his son: Carless Michael (Carrie) Wiley of Beckley, WV; his daughter: Carolyn (Ricky) Cline of Pie, WV; grandchildren: Michael Shane and Christopher Daniel Wiley, Ricky Ray and Barbie Cline; sisters: Deloris Browning, Mary May, and Leslie West; stepchildren: Patricia (Nick) Brown, Emmett (Tennille) Cline, all of Gilbert, WV; four step-grandchildren; special sisters-in-law: Gaynell (Gary) VanNatter and Joyce (Jim) Groves, all of Gilbert, WV whom he considered his own sisters; best friend and niece: Chelsie VanNatter of Gilbert, WV.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, Gilbert, WV where funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Cresong and Rev. Billy Burton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wiley Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Carless will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Brody and Gary K. VanNatter, Ricky and Derrick Cline, Jimmy Hatfield, Jacob Maynard, Jimmy Groves, Ricky Cresong, and Tracy May.  Honorary pallbearers are: Benji, Ricky, and Emmette Cline, Gary VanNatter, Michael Wiley, Joe McVickers, and Jamie Matnney.

Carless will be deeply missed by his family and all who have had the privilege of knowing him.  His memory will live on in the love he gave and the many lives he touched.
