Carolyn Sue (Cline) Cook

Carolyn Sue Cook, 72 of Matheny, WV, formerly of Baisden, where she had lived most of her life, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, after suffering a long illness.

Born July 1, 1948 at Baisden, she was the daughter of the late Thelma and Hoover Cline.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is also preceded in death by her infant son: Rodney Cook; brothers: Steve, Sterling and Hoover Cline, Jr.

Carolyn was a good Christian woman and a member of the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church for many years, she loved Jesus and was a people person.  She had a genuine kindness for everyone she encountered, she was a social butterfly, who never met a stranger and had a heart so full of love, that it showed on her face.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, and any other event that allowed her to socialize and spend time with her family and friends.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her loving husband of 58 years: Roger Glen Cook, of Matheny and her fur baby, Prissy; daughters: Carol (David) Hatfield of Hampden, Lisa (Glen) Gobel of Matheny, Renea (Jamie) Brown of Cyclone; her grandchildren: Andrew (Amber) Hatfield of Hampden, Aaron (Amanda) Roberts of Iaeger, Emily Chattin and future grandson in law, Ken Adkins, Ashton and Adam Brown, all of Cyclone, Derick Gobel of Panther; her great grandchildren: Brian and Rosie Hatfield, Ava and Anthony Roberts, and Layla Gobel.  She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.

2 Corinthians Ch 5 V-8 “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”, and on this promise, we celebrate. 

Please join us in rejoicing for her healing and new heavenly home, with visitation on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel where funeral services will commence on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Andrew Hatfield officiating.  Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.

Carolyn will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: David Hatfield, Glen Gobel, Jamie Brown, Aaron Roberts, Ken Adkins, and Ashton Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Hatfield,  Derick Gobel, and Adam Brown.

She may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
