Carson David Young

Carson David Young, 2 ½ months of Matewan, WV departed this life Monday, March 9, 2026.

Born December 23, 2025, in Pikeville, KY he was the sweet, loving son of Malinda Gibson and Chris Young.

Carson was preceded in death by his grandparents: Janet Fisher, Eddie Roden, and Sheena Gibson; cousin: E.J. Runyon.

Carson’s smile would light up a room, everyone loved him. He enjoyed watching Cars, Mickey Mouse, Bluey and being around his family. 

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving parents, Malinda Gibson and Chris Young of Matewan, WV; his grandparents: Troy Lester, Stella Gibson of Newtown, and  Michaela and David Maynard of Red Jacket; aunts and uncles: Roxanna and Josh Bryant of Chattaroy, Tessa and Jake Gibson of Newtown, Kenzie and Linzie Prince of Red Jacket, and Melody Maynard; great aunts: Teresa and Tammy Hatfield of Delbarton, Luca Gibson of Newtown; cousins: Madison Hatfield, and Tab and Kenny Files of Whitman.  He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.  

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 12:00 till 1:00 p.m. with funeral services commencing at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Endicott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery at Red Jacket, WV.

Carson will be carried to his resting place by David Maynard and Jake Gibson.

Carson’s life was short, but he brought such joy and happiness to everyone.  He was loved and he will be missed; his memory will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
