Charlene Ann (Bentley) “Momo” Hatfield, 65 of Ben Creek, WV departed this life Monday, April 17, 2023 from her residence.
Born September 25, 1957 at Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Doris (Schwane) and the late James Bentley.
In addition to her father, James Bentley, she is also preceded in death by her 2 special sisters-in-law: Cora Helen Compton and Aletta Hatfield; special mother-in-law: Pearl Hatfield; special father-in-law: Troy K. Hatfield, Sr; special brother-in-law: Ronald “Ron” Breeding.
Charlene was a retired schoolteacher of 31 years, for the Mingo County BOE. Her favorite hobby was playing Bingo, her favorite color was purple, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her loving husband of 34 years: Russell Hatfield; daughter: Sierra Hatfield, both of Ben Creek; son: Eric (Rian) Callaway of N.C; mother: Doris Bentley; grandchildren: Gabriel, Waylon and Brayden Callaway, all of N.C; sisters: Barbara (Bentley) Dunn of Louisville, KY, and Dawn (Bentley) Whitman of Colonial Beach, VA; brothers: Douglas (Jennifer) Bentley of Cotuit, MA. and Gregory (Lori) Bentley of Seymour, IN; sisters-in-law: Sue (Learmon) Mounts of Baisden, Glenda (Rutherford) Cline of Baisden, Dottie (Ralph) New of Hinton, Bonnie Breeding of Ben Creek; brother-in-law: Troy K. (Penny) Hatfield, Jr. of Ohio; special friends: Melissa Bartley of Ben Creek and Deena Surber of Gilbert; her special fur babies: Pepper and Abbie of the home. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, April 21, 2023 after 6:00 pm at the Wharncliffe Church of God, with special service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will commence there at the church on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rick Endicott and Bro. James Runyon officiating. Burial will follow at the Howell/Hatfield Cemetery at Wharncliffe Station, Wharncliffe, WV.
Charlene will be carried to her resting place by Donavon New, Kyle, David, and Evan Breeding, Nick Hurley, Eric and Gabriel Callaway, Kyle Hatfield. Honorary pallbearers are Randall New, Ricky, and Eddie Mounts.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
