Charles "Bubby" Bowens, Jr.

Charles “Bubby’ Bowens, Jr., 58 of Green Valley, WV went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 20, 2023 at CAMC General Division surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 12, 1964 at Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Charles Walker and Charlotte (Ball) Bowens.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Dorothy Ball Belcher and Bernard Ball; paternal grandparents: Craddie and Lewis Bowens; brothers: Charles Lewis Bowens and John D. Bowens; Sister: Nioka White; great niece: Salenna Grimmett.

Bubby was the light of his family.  He loved music and watching Gunsmoke movies, he especially loved his dog and birds, being surrounded by his stuffed animals, and spending time with his family.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his sisters: Carolyn Meade (Butch Preston), and Jacqueline Collins; his brother-in-law: Forest White; ex brother-in-law: Garland Collins, Sr; nephews: Teddy (Nikki Davis) Browning, Titus Perry, Forest (Janie) White, Jr., Garland (Rebecca) Collins, Marcus (Brittany) McCoy; nieces: Jacqueline (Allen) Grimmett, Charlotte (Tommy) Ward, Rebecca (Jimmy) Meade, Ashley (Jeff) Hayes. He also leaves behind a host of great nieces, nephews, great, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many other family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Jacob Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, Logan, WV.

Bubby will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Jeff Hayes, Garland Collins, Jr., Titus Perry, Marcus McCoy, Allen Grimmett, Jr., Teddy Browning, Forest White, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers are: Butch Preston, Forest White, Sr., Tommy Ward, Talenna Grimmett.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at CAMC General, especially to the night nurse, Kaitlyn.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
