Clayton Hatfield, 84 of Wharncliffe, WV departed this life Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
Born November 17, 1938 in Gilbert, WV he was the son of the late Willie Londis and Minnie (Hatfield) Hatfield.
Clayton enjoyed being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a retired Coal Miner, and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was of the Christian Faith.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his sons: Jimmy (Judith) Hatfield of Gilbert Creek, WV, Roger (Deloris) Hatfield and Gentry (Lori Hurst) Hatfield, all of Wharncliffe, WV, Elvin “DoBug” (Lorraine) Hatfield of Delbarton, WV; grandchildren: Rebecca (Kenneth) Hatfield of Wharncliffe, WV, Jennifer Hatfield of Coal Mountain, WV, Roger Dale (Brittany) Hatfield of Oceana, WV, Shawn Hatfield of Wharncliffe, WV, Elvin Lee Hatfield of Delbarton, WV, Tawana (Larry) Browning of NC, Amber Brundage (Jerry Altizer) of Man, WV, Brandon (Jeana) Dotson of Verner, WV, Torri Dotson (Anthony Morgan) of Kenova, WV; great grandchildren: Dalton, Chloe, and Cody Hatfield, all of Wharncliffe, WV, Sarah and Gracy Cisco, both of NC, Kyra and Leland Grimmett, both of Man, WV. Clayton also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, September 29, 2023 from 6-9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will commence there at the chapel on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Danny Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork, Gilbert, WV.
Clayton will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
