Cortney "Corky" James Rasnick

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Cortney “Corky” James Rasnick, 69 of Justice, WV departed this life Sunday, March 9, 2025, from Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.  Born March 15, 1955, at Guyan, WV he was the son of the late George W. and Betty Lue (Walker) Rasnick.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Glen “Grizzly” Rasnick and Steve Rasnick.

Cortney, better known as “Corky,” to his friends and family, enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and 4-wheel riding.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandson Aidan.  He attended the Browning Fork House of Faith Church and enjoyed being with his church family.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years: Judy Vanessa Rasnick of Justice, WV; daughters: Kelly (Jeremy) Steele of Logan, WV and Kim (Kelly Jack) Smith of Davin, WV; grandchildren: Aidan and Zackary Steele of Logan, WV; his very much loved "Fur Baby" Daisy; sisters: Gladys (Eddie) Rambo of Ballard, WV and Joan Rasnick Adkins of Pikeville, KY; brothers: Larry Rasnick and Roy (Alisha) Rasnick, all of Justice, WV; sister-in-law: Aretta England of Rockhouse, WV; special cousin: Quinton Rasnick of Ohio; special nurse: Pam Harvey.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear friends, especially his church family.

Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home with special service starting at 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence there in the chapel on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lowell Smith, Rev. Diamond Carter, and Rev. Garfield officiating.  Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Justice, WV.

Corky will be taken to his resting place by Aidan, Jeremy, and Zackary Steele, Kelly Jack Smith, Larry and Roy Rasnick. 

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and nurses at Logan Regional Medical Center, also to his doctors: Dr. Mullen, Dr. Marzouk, and Dr. Radha for the care that he received.

He may be gone from our sight, but his memories and love will forever be within our hearts.
