Curtis Lee Hatfield

Curtis Lee Hatfield, 82, of Browning Fork, Gilbert, WV, departed this life Friday, April 4, 2025, from Logan Regional Medical Center.  Born February 6, 1943, at Browning Fork, he was the son of the late Wannie and Ethel (Christian) Hatfield.

Curtis enjoyed sitting on the porch, telling stories to his grandchildren, going to his second home in Calhoun County, spending time with family, and watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke.  Curtis was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and he was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Linda (Brooks) Hatfield of Browning Fork, WV; his brother: Racie “Jack” (Lana Lester) Hatfield; his sons: Jamie (April) Hatfield and John Hatfield, all of Browning Fork, WV; his grandchildren: Gabriel (Kayci) Berry of Ransom, KY, Jacob Blankenship, Dawson, Rilee, and Sheridan Hatfield, all of Browning Fork, WV; great granddaughter: Aelin Berry and Darcy May; sister-in-law: Mavis Cline; nieces: Jennifer (Phillip) May and Stephanie (Joshua) Endicott; nephews: Kevin (Dalla) Hatfield and Jason (Tina) Hatfield; special great grandchildren: Dillon (Katie) Brooks-May, Kobi May, Tytus and Kainan Endicott, and Carmen Coleman.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 1:00 till 2:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Gibson and Joshua Endicott officiating.  Military rites will be provided by WV Army Honor Guard and the Iaeger VFW Post # 1144 following service.  Burial will follow in the Christian Cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert, WV.

Curtis will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Rilee Hatfield, Logan Hurley, Gabriel Berry, Jacob Blankenship, Dillon Brooks-May, and Kobi May. Honorary pallbearers are Dawson Hatfield, Bo May, Homer Blankenship, Jack, Kevin, and Jason Hatfield, Tytus, Kainan, and Joshua Endicott.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
