Curtis Dale Lester Jr.

I am heartbroken to announce the death of my brother, Curtis Dale Lester, Jr.  He passed away peacefully at his home in North Spring at the age of 66 on June 8, 2023.  

He was born on January 3, 1957 in Welch, WV.  Curt loved listening to music, riding his motorcycle, and always brought a smile to everyone’s face.  He was a strong athlete and played football and basketball at Baileysville High School from 1971-1975.  Curt received his Bachelors in Arts cum laude from Concord College in 1989. He was an  accomplished teacher for several years in Manassas, Virginia and Mingo County Schools.  He cared for and loved his students. 

Curt was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Dale Lester, Sr., mother, Gloria (Parsons) Lester, Uncle, Ronald (Anna) Lester, and Uncle, James Parsons. He is survived by his Aunt, Mary Lou (Lester) Robinette, Uncle, Jerry Parsons, son, Heath Ellis, and his only sister, Lisa (Randall) New, niece, Mackenzie (Jordan) Walker, nephew, Donavan (Rachel) New and family. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.  A memorial service will be held later this summer with family and close friends.
