Darlina Lawrence, 44 of Lumberton NC, transitioned to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at her home.
Born on April 10, 1977 at Phoenix Arizona, she was the daughter of Joe James Lawrence, Sr., and Deloris Jean (Goodman) Lawrence.
She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and an inspirational friend to so many lives that she touched. She was a recent graduate from IMBC, with a 4.0 GPA, and receiving her diploma for Medical Office Administrator. She had previously worked as a Cosmetologist, Insurance Agent, and Home Health Care Provider. Following graduation from Baileysville High School in West Virginia, she honorably served her country by enlisting into the United States Army as a 31L1O (Wire System Installer) for a period of 5 years. During that commitment, she completed one foreign tour to Korea. She was a devout Christian with Pentecostal church roots. She loved shopping (therapy) with her daughter, going to the beach, traveling to new places, going to church and fine dining. She also loved being a country girl who knew how to fish, shoot guns, and hang with her brothers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Darlina Lawrence and to mourn her passing include her daughter Gabriella Devon Martinez; son Jamie Jonah Hunt Jr; brothers Jerry Michael (Teresa) McNeely, of Amherstdale West Virginia and Victor Dwayne (Valerie) Lawrence, of Colorado Springs Colorado; her sister Sharon Kay Lawrence of Boulder Colorado; her nephews: John Michael McNeely, Vincent Demetre Lawrence, Robert Scott Keener, Christopher Hoyt Bellegante; her nieces: Paula Jean McNeely, Jessica McNeely and Jasmine Unique Harris; and a host of dear Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 12 noon to 1 pm. Funeral Services will commence at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Compton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery at Gilbert West Virginia.
Darlina will be carried to her final resting place by US Army representatives. She will also receive her Military Service honors prior to her transport to her final resting place.
She is temporarily gone from our sight and presence, but she will never leave our hearts, minds, or memories. One day we will be reunited by the grace of God’s love and forgiving sacrifice of the precious blood of Jesus.
