David "Buck" Hatfield

David “Buck” Hatfield, 55 of Wharncliffe, WV departed this life Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.  Born November 30, 1968, at Man, WV he was the son of the late Orville and Sadie (Browning) Hatfield.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister: Patricia Hardy; brother: Rodney Browning; father-in-law: Bill “Popaw” Jackson.

When David was able, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his 4-wheeler, gardening, and doing things that were outdoors.  He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his loving wife Judy (Jackson) Hatfield of the home; sons: Tyler (Kayla) Hatfield of Nettie, WV, Cody Hatfield of Newark, OH, B.J. Compton of Bluewell, WV, Chris (Christa) Compton, OH; grandchildren: Carlie And Sadie Hatfield of Nettie, WV, Delilah Diamond of Lawton, OK, C.J. Compton of Panther, WV; mother-in-law: Frances “Nanny” Jackson; brothers: Michael (Tina) Hatfield of Nashport, OH, Orville “Gub” Hatfield, Jr of Newark, OH, Tony Browning, and Audie (Shari) Browning, all of Hanover, OH; sisters: Carlene (Dean) Cline of Hinton, WV, Lori (Freddie) Ward and Jean Copley, all of Wharncliffe, WV; special friends/family: Ricky and Andrea Morton and their son Kerry Morton; special nieces and nephews that he loved as his own children: Jordan (Amanda “Little Bit”) Hatfield, Shawn Ward, Khaleigh “Fangers” and Kaiden “Homer” , and Christie Justice; his special “Fur Babies” Petey, Baby Girl “Sassy” and Raven.  He also leaves behind a host of other nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Monday, November 25, 2024, from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer, Hampden, WV where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Pastor Carl “Cab” Wolford and Rev. Danny Ward officiating.  Burial will follow in the Glen Alum Cemetery at Glen Alum, WV.

David will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Jordan Hatfield, Shawn Ward, Darin Browning, Shaun Platthy, Michael Hatfield, Ronnie Mounts, O.J. “Gub” Hatfield, Joseph Copley, and B.J. Compton.  Honorary pallbearers are Kaiden Justice, Freddie Ward, Audie and Tony Browning, and Arnold Justice.  Flower Bearer: Khaleigh Justice.

He may be gone from our sight, but he will live on in our hearts forever.
