Delaina Jane (Lester) Sammons, 60 of Hanover, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from Logan Regional Medical Center. She laid her Armor down at the master’s feet after 48 days and was welcomed home by her loved ones waiting there for her.
Delaina was born in Welch, WV on July 23, 1963 to the late Clarence and Sue Ann (Kenneda) Lester.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her infant sister: Gloria Shawn Lester; grandparents: Brian Kenneda and Brookie (Howard) Kenneda Webb, Dee, and Flossie Lester; a host of aunts, uncles, and other dear relatives.
Delaina enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, making memories that will last a lifetime. She was a caring person who gave her prayers and faith in God to anyone in need.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her loving husband of 40 years: Lawrence Sammons; her 3 precious daughters: Candi (Mike) Heineman, Mandi (TJ) Vance, Shandi (Bandon) Blankenship, all of Hanover, WV; her 8 wonderful grandchildren, who she loved and adored; Brayden (Hannah), Bracelyn, Brierlyn, and Branstyn Heineman, Logan Sammons, Kimmee, and Kyra Hatfield, Daxton Blankenship, all of Hanover, WV; siblings: Anthony (Pam) Lester of Hanover, WV, Anetta (Lloyd) Cline of Simon, WV, Dougie (Misty) Lester, Tabatha Lester and companion Mark Cline, all of Hanover, WV. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, which she loved like her own, also cousins and other family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday, April 21, 2024 in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, after 6:00 pm, where funeral services will commence on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 2:00pm with Rev. Homer Blankenship, Jr. and Rev. Shane Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery at Hanover, WV.
Delaina will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.
She will be loved and missed by everyone who was privileged to receive the love that she freely gave from her golden heart.
