Derek Harlan Justice, 47 of Baisden, departed this life on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born January 26, 1975 at Welch, he was the son of the late Harlan and Arvilla (Cline) Justice.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a very special daughter: Cassidy Faith Justice; his brothers: Sheldon Todd Justice and Leland Justice; brother-in-law: Jeff Carter; maternal grandparents: Phil and Hattie Cline; and paternal grandparents: Lonnie and Lydia Justice.
Derek was a logger for many years until his health wouldn’t allow him to continue. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 3 grandchildren. His passion was chicken fighting, spending time at his cabin in Ritchie County, hunting with family and friends, and riding his side-by-side.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Danielle Justice~his one and only true love; daughters: Destiny (Zachary) Hatfield of Gilbert and Dereka Justice (David Rice) of South Charleston; three very special grandchildren he loved with all his heart: Colton, Mason, and Gracelyn Hatfield; a father-in-law he loved like his own: George Wooten Sr. of Oceana; mother-in-law: Danice (Chuck) Watts of Florida; sister: Melissa Carter (David Bennett) of Baisden; niece Farrah (Billy) Hunt of Delbarton; and three best friends who were like brothers: Weston Cline, Randy Layne, and Shan (Bubba) White.
Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-9:00pm with funeral services beginning at 7:00. Rev. Jonas Trent and Rev. Ralphy Manuel will be officiating.
To honor Derek’s wishes his remains will be cremated.
His smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all who loved him.
