Dewey "Sam" Hatfield

Dewey “Sam” Hatfield, 53 of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, departed this life Thursday, November 11, 2021 from his residence.

Born January 1, 1968 in Logan, he was the son of the late Elba and Lena (Trent) Hatfield.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his infant son: Austin Bryan Hatfield; sister: Mary Carter; brother: Elba Turley Hatfield, Jr; nephew: Carl Edward “Earnie” Hatfield.

Sam enjoyed lifting weights and working on vehicles.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife: Rebecca (Blankenship) Hatfield; daughter: Marissa Hatfield; sons: Travis (Kimberly) Hatfield, Cody Hatfield, Toby Hatfield; granddaughters: Mylah and Nova Hatfield; grandson: Maxton Hatfield, all of Gilbert; sisters: Celia Wiley of Williamson, Loretta Stover of Oceana, Stella Hatfield (Kenny Blankenship) and Connie Hatfield, all of Gilbert, Bonnie (Ronnie) Hatfield of Ragland, Stephanie (Frank) Jackson of Browning Fork; brothers: Elvis Hatfield and Brian (Kimberly) Hatfield, all of Browning Fork, Malcom (Tina) Hatfield of Beech Creek, Randolph Hatfield of Browning Fork; nephew, whom he loved as a son: Josh (Nay) Hatfield; uncle: Garfield (Sharon) Hatfield, all of Browning Fork.  Sam also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Garfield Hatfield officiating.

To honor his request, his remains will be cremated following services.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
