Diana Lea Hatfield, 76 of Coal Mountain, WV departed this life Monday, June 24, 2024, from Princeton Community Hospital. Born April 11, 1948, in Toler Hollow, Coal Mountain, WV, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Drewey and Margaret Almeda (Hoosier) Hatfield, Sr.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers: Timothy, Dusty, Randy, Dennis, and Johnny Hatfield; paternal grandparents: Grat and Dottie (Cook) Hatfield; maternal grandparents: Henry and Alta (Morgan) Hoosier.
Diana was a 1966 graduate of Baileysville High School and had worked as an aide at Coal Mountain Grade School, also as a phone girl for the coal mines in that area for years. She cleaned, and helped care for her aunts and neighbors, and had worked in Home Health for several years.
Diana’s joys in life were family gatherings, crocheting, working puzzles, and doing puzzle books. Her love of gardening and sharing her garden with her friends and family will be remembered always, along with her generosity and caring heart.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her best friend and sister: Brenda Hatfield of Coal Mtn; her brothers: Daniel Hatfield of Coal Mtn, and David Hatfield of Midkiff; her special nephew: Jason (Rachel) Hatfield of Chapmanville; and other nephews: Jake Hatfield of Man, Daryll Brady of Penns Grove, New Jersey, Matthew and Adam Hatfield of Beckley; niece: Holly Hatfield of Covel; sisters-in-law: Donna Hatfield of Oceana and Wilma Hatfield of Jumping Branch. She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
In honoring her wishes, she will be cremated, and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
