Dicy "June" (Davis) Runyon

Dicy “June” (Davis) Runyon 95 of Ballard, WV., formerly of Gilbert, WV departed this life Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from her residence.

Born January 22, 1931, at North Spring, WV she was the loving daughter of the late Sherman Lee and Callie (Lambert) Davis.

June was the last one still living of her generation. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband: Arden Runyon; her daughter: Charlene Runyon Trent, and her husband Herbert Trent; her siblings: Edith (Luelleyn) Riffe, Blaine (Esther) Davis, Elva (Eugene) Lyall, Nellie (Morrell) Steiner, George (Helen) Davis, Verla (Arnold) Allen, Jayson (Joyce) Davis, and an infant sister: Annie Elenor Davis.

June will be remembered for her deep love and genuine kindness toward others, qualities that flowed naturally from a life centered on Christ’s love. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived every day. She found joy and comfort in listening to gospel music and spent time each day reading the Bible, which guided her words, actions, and relationships. She loved reading, cooking for others, collecting angel figurines, and, most of all, visiting with friends and family whom she adored. Her presence brought peace, warmth, and encouragement to those around her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, forgiveness, and generosity—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.  She was a member of the Verner Community Church, Verner, WV.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are a host of loving nieces, nephews and all their family, and a multitude of other dear friends and acquaintances she had come to know and love throughout her life.

Friends may gather with the family Monday, February 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Arble Morgan and Rev. Wayne Addair officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Chapmanville, WV.

June will be taken to her resting place by pallbearers: Barry and Shawn Davis, Michael and Gregory Johnston, Kent Bishop, and Ryan Bragg.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
