Dinnie Ray Carter, 70 of Hanover, WV made his journey to his eternal home on Monday, February 17, 2025, from his residence. Born April 12, 1954, at Simon, WV he was the son of the late Chester and Eva (Hatfield) Carter.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Janetta Toler; an amazing father and mother-in-law: McAdoo “Mack” and Nancy (Perry) Riffe; brother-in-law: Dukie Riffe.
Dinnie enjoyed family get togethers, especially picnics and adventures with everyone. He was always joking, playing games and pranking everyone he knew, he also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being outdoors.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years: Carla Gaye (Riffe) Carter of the home; his daughters: Heather (Allen) Blankenship of Long Branch and Misty (Jerry) Matz of Skin Fork; grandchildren: Jeffery (Courtney) Blankenship, Shawn (Allie) Blankenship, Kristen Blankenship (Hayden Morgan), Anthony Carter, Melanie and Jesse, Miranda Matz; great grandchildren: Weston and Tatum Morgan, Ryleigh Blankenship; sisters: Liz (Bill) Bennett, Hilda Mouw, and Marilyn (John) Davis; brothers: Nathan (Rosa) Carter and Elmer (Angie) Carter.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, February 21, 2025, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 6:00 till 9:00 pm with funeral services commencing at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bill Goode officiating.
Hand in hand Dinnie and Carla built a wonderful life together and he left behind the legacy of a loving family and a host of friends. He will forever live on in our hearts.
In honoring his request Dinnie will be cremated following services.
