Donald “Donnie” Stepp, 74 of Justice, WV departed this life on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from CAMC Select Specialty Hospital, Charleston, WV.
Born August 20, 1951, in Holden, WV he was the son of the late Esland “Zeke” and Maxine (Cline) Stepp.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his identical twin brother: Ronald Stepp; his other brothers Dennis and Gary Stepp; nephew: Josh Riffe; paternal grandparents: Maude (Hatfield) and Elias Stepp; maternal grandparents: Allie (Hatfield) and Ott Cline.
Donald was an Army Veteran and a retired contractor, who owned “Stepp Building & Remodeling” and had built several homes and businesses in the Gilbert and Justice areas. He was a devout Christian, who enjoyed bass tournament fishing and deer hunting when he was able to do so. Donald, along with his twin brother Ronald, went to Nashville, TN where they wrote songs and recorded a few, as the “Stepp Brothers”, Ronald played the piano and Donald played the guitar, traveling together to different areas, enjoying their time together. He also had a great sense of humor.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife: Brenda Hatfield of Justice, WV; sons: Jason (Rachel) Hatfield of Chapmanville, WV and Rocky (Tanya) Davis of Hanover, WV; grandchildren: Jaden, Kashtyn, Summer, Olivia Hatfield and Maddie Kennedy; brothers: Tyrone (Lynn) Stepp of Varney, WV and Chris Hurst of Australia; sister: Brenda Stepp of Savannah, GA; lifelong best friend: Wayne Ellis; special thanks to Daniel Hatfield for the help that he gave in the last few years and to Rachel Farley for always bringing a smile to Donnie, even on his sickest days. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Justice Memorial Gardens, Justice, WV with Pastor Zeke Stepp officiating. Military Rites will be provided by VFW Post 1144 of Iaeger, WV and the WV Honor Guard.
Donald will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Jason and Daniel Hatfield, Nick and Zeke Stepp, Jimmy Riffe, and other friends. Honorary pallbearers are: Wayne Ellis, Tyrone Stepp, and Duranny Walls.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
