Dorene (Cline) Gillman

Dorene Gillman, 91 of Horsepen, WV departed this life Friday, March 7, 2025, from her daughter’s residence.  Born January 5, 1934, at Wharncliffe, WV she was the loving daughter of the late Everett and Carrie (Trent) Cline and Thomas Cline.

In addition to her parents, Dorene is preceded by her husband: William “Billy” Gillman; son: Michael Cline; granddaughter: Carrie Cline; grandson: William David Sparks; sons-in-law: Gavin Smith and Dwayne Cline; sisters: Kathleen and Erma Trent, Juanita Coleman; brothers: Charles, Parker, Clark, and Allen Cline, Craig and John Hatfield, Willie Gene, Ance, and Edgar Cline; special niece: Greta Cline.

Dorene enjoyed sitting on her porch, 4-wheel riding, traveling to Tennessee, and going out on the lake, but her greatest love in life was being able to attend church and spend quality time with her family and friends.  She attended the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church.  

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughters: Mavis Cline and Audrey Smith (Michael Thornsbury); special great granddaughter; Mindi Sparks, her “Baby Girl”; grandchildren: Jennifer (Phillip) May, Jessica (Robert) Sheppard, Stephanie (Joshua) Endicott, Thomas, Michael Ray, and Michael Lee Cline, Natasha (Joe) Stevens; daughter-in-law: Holly Rasnick; sisters: Liza Trent and Mary (Bill) Hooper; brothers: Dallas and Rush (Hope) Cline; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; special caregiver/friend: Davina Baisden.  She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, March 11. 2025 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home with Rev. Jonas Trent, Rev. Denny May, and Rev. Lowell Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Trent/Cline Cemetery at Spring Fork, WV.

Dorene will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Robert Sheppard, Dillon and Phillip May, Tytus and Kainan Endicott, Bart Hatfield, and Buck Cline.  Honorary pallbearers are Rush Cline, Michael Thornsbury, Toge Johnson, and Dave Baisden.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
