Dorlis (Doris) Ann Trent, 74 of Hampden, departed this life Sunday, September 12, 2021, to be with her Lord and her many loved ones, from Pikeville Medical Center.
Born on June 13, 1947 at Gilbert, she was the daughter of the late Kenner and Mina (Belcher) Ferguson.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband: Joseph Clinton Trent; her daughter: Sherrie (Trent) Browning; sisters: Marietta Ferguson and Flossie Ellis; brothers: James, Kenneth, Elmer, and Billy Ferguson; sister-in-law: Joyce (Mounts) Ferguson; nephew: Charlie Ferguson.
Doris was a loving and caring woman with a big heart. She loved the Lord more than anything, she was a devoted Christian, she loved going to different churches and singing and worshipping with her fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord. Her son Clinton Michael was her life, she was a dedicated mother to many kids in the neighborhood, a mother to her siblings, cousins, nephews, and everyone. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Those left to love an cherish her memory are her sons: Clinton Michael, and Billy (Willa Mae) Trent; daughter: Lisa (PJ) Collins all of Hampden; granddaughters: Miranda Collins of Lexington, KY and Rikka Collins (Fiancée Brandon Powers) of Delbarton; grandsons: Jacob (Hope) Trent, and Jonah Trent of Hampden; great grandsons: Liam Powers and Lincoln Trent; great granddaughter: Indy Powers; special sister: Drema Lester; special brother: Johnny Ferguson, both of Hampden; her sisters at heart and special friends: Marie and Barb Ferguson, Janice Spence, Mary Lou Smith, Edith Roberts, Shelia Browning, Marilyn Kent; special uncle: Benny Belcher; always a phone call away: Robie Graham, Doni Jo West, Mikayla Mounts, Marietta Runyon and Charlotte Ferguson; Doris also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Denny May and Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Bud Trent Cemetery at Hampden.
Doris will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Ronald “Punk” Bailey, Jason “Chubby” Runyon, Jason Runyon, Bruce and Jeff Ferrell, Greg and Kevin Ferguson, and Chris Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are: Charles and Mikie Christian, Todd Browning, Joseph Mounts, David and Robert Ferguson, Rocky Kennedy, Tim and Chad Collins.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
