Dottie Lou Goodman, 80 of Man, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from her residence.
Born May 19, 1942 at Buffalo Creek, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Vance) and James Nelson.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her infant daughter: Mary Ann (Nelson) Goodman; infant son: Billy Joe Goodman; sister; Nancy (Nelson) Dean; brothers-in-law: Jimmie Dean, and Carlos Barker; several aunts and uncles.
Dottie enjoyed country living, being outdoors, and gardening, she especially enjoyed the many trips and places that she and Thomas visited, she was always wanting to help him and be a part of everything he done. Dottie loved attending church and being with her family and friends.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Thomas Goodman of Man, WV; sons: James Onnie Goodman of TN, and John Darrell Goodman of Man, WV; grandchildren: Heather Rena (Billy) Kiskadden of Ohio, Ashley Lacole (Bradley) Compton of Baisden, WV; great-grandchildren: Bryson Kiskadden of Ohio, Noah and Lexie Compton of Baisden, WV; sister: Bobby Barker of Stowe, WV; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Baldridge of Ohio, Lucille Kirk of Poca, WV, Belinda Repshire of Foster, WV, Phyllis (Kenny) Johnson of Verner, WV, Ruth Myers of Wisconsin; brother-in-law: Jimmie Dale Goodman of Tamcliffe, WV. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, October 17, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner, WV.
Dottie will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Jimmie Goodman, Kenny Johnson, Bradley Compton, Billy Kiskadden, Noah Compton, Michael McNeely.
Dottie’s wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
