Douglas Reese Browning, 71 of Leitchfield, KY departed this life Sunday, November 26, 2023 from Robley Rex VA Medical Center.
Born January 6, 1952 at Leatherwood, WV he was the son of the late Donnie William and Ruby (Browning) Browning.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Iris Daphene (Walker) Browning; sister-in-law: Linda Faye Browning.
Doug was a US Army Veteran. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his children: Bradley Reese (Jacinda) Browning of Louisville, KY, Stacey (David) Hollis of Clarksville, TN, Jeffrey (Emily) Pomeroy of Acworth, GA, Kelly (Eddie) Lampton of Leitchfield, KY, Brian Hatfield of VA, Brittany Walker of WV, 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers: David (Lisa) Browning of Gallipolis, OH, Michael (Lisa) Browning of Riverview, WV, Gary (Linda “Sissy Bug”) Browning of Rockhouse, WV; sister: Francis (Jimmy) Bailey of Rockhouse, WV; special friends: Lonnie Huff, Steve Morton, Donald Fairthorne. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 6-9 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, where funeral services will commence on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Rev. David Browning, Rev. Michael Browning, and Rev. Gary Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner, WV
Doug will be carried to his resting place by Joey, David Mark, Don, and other family members and friends. The Honorary pallbearer is Kermit Browning.
Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 1144, Iaeger, WV.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
