Douglas Christian

Douglas Christian, 70, of Gilbert, departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2019, from Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, WV.

Born February 14, 1949, at Logan County, he was the son of the late Leander and Juanita (Hatfield) Christian.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two daughters: Juanita Thompson Christian and Rachel Christian; one sister: Charlotte Christian; and one brother: Dallas Christian.

Douglas was a loving son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his fur babies, Oreo and Bailey Dawn. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters: Lorrie Hatfield of Gilbert and Lisa Benham of Portland, TN; two brothers: Dayton (Andrea) Christian of Bluewell and Denver (Pat) Christian of Texas; twelve grandchildren: Michael Millirones, C.J. Foster, Angel Foster-Wilcox, Christy Chafin, Angel Ruggles, Shania Hatfield, Brandy Thompson, Amanda Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Christian Bolton, Makayla Biggs and Althea Johnson; nineteen great-grandchildren. Douglas also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 12 to 2 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dewayne Houk officiating.  Burial will follow in the Christian Family Cemetery at the Browning Fork section of Gilbert, WV.

Doug will be carried to his final resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
