Eddy Cline Obituary

Eddy Cline of Hanover departed this life on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan WV.

Born on March 4, 1950, he was the son of the late Silas and Vennie Cline.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Teddy Cline and Carey Cline, and one sister, Aracoma Justice.

Eddy was a loving father and grandfather, a retired coal miner, and a well-known coal operator. He was also a faithful member of the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer where he attended services until his health no longer allowed him to do so. Eddy also enjoyed vacationing in his childhood vacation spot of Swansboro, NC, where he spent most of his time relaxing on the pier fishing. Eddy was also described by many as a hard worker who stood firm on his belief that when it came to work, any job worth doing was a job worth doing well. That was just the kind of man he was known and loved as.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Eddy are his loving wife of 50 years, Ileen (Marsingill) Cline of Hanover; son, Shawn (Jeannie) Cline of Hampton; daughter, Lora (John) Hatfield of Baisden; four granddaughters: Kayla (Jon) Hatfield of Hanover, Casey and Katie Hatfield of Baisden, and Ashton (Dalton) Dotson of Wake Forrest, NC; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Mason Hatfield of Hanover; two brothers Larry (Linda) Cline of Williamson and Mark (Linda) Cline of Baisden; special friends: Harry and Carolyn Grimmett of Pigeon Creek; one special adoptive grandson, whom he claimed as his own, Keegun Clark of Hampton; and a of host of dear nieces, nephews, family, and friends, who will always cherish in his memory.
