Edith "Marlene" (Walker) Shelton

Edith “Marlene” (Walker) Shelton, 62 of Florence, South Carolina graduated from earth on April 14th, 2025 at home surrounded with family. Born on July 6, 1962 in Iaeger, West Virginia she was the daughter to the late Raymond and Eunice (Walls) Walker.  Marlene spent over 40 years working between management positions and being a wife and mother and Pastor’s wife.

She leaves behind her husband of 43 years Johnny Shelton, and 2 sons, Jonathan (Meagan) and David (Shanise). As well as 4 beautiful, amazing grandchildren: Johnathan Fernandez, JoAnna Shelton, Peyton and Malachi Shelton. She also leaves behind 2 sisters: Leshia (Barry) Brooks, Loretta (Michael) Kersey and 2 brothers, Lionel (Belinda) Walker, and Eddie Walker and a group of nephews and nieces who she loved as her own. 

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her brother Sonny Walker, and 3 sisters Linda Cline, Angela Walker and Ruth Walker. 

Celebration of life services will be held 2-4 PM on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Hamer Church of God in Hamer, South Carolina with Reverend Kevin Byrd officiating.  A reception will follow the services at the church and everyone in attendance is invited.  

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff with Cresent Health for the special care given to Mrs. Shelton.
