Edward Ray Ellis, Jr.

Edward Ray Ellis, Jr., 52 of Justice, WV departed this life Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from CAMC Memorial Division.  Born on November 2, 1971 at Man, WV he was the son of the late Delennia Brook (Justice) and Edward Ray Ellis, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Humphrey and Reba Ellis; maternal grandparents: Nathan and Lake (Browning) Justice.

Eddie Ray was a great husband, father, and papaw.  He was a 1990 graduate of Gilbert High School, where he was # 75 on his team, The Gilbert Lions.  He was a member of the UMWA Local 1713, and he was a member of The Padfork Freewill Baptist Church.  He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Football.  Eddie stayed so positive throughout the many challenges that he faced in life, he always enjoyed talking about fishing, and he always wanted his family to be together.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 years, Tina (Lester) Ellis; his daughter: Kalenia (Bryan) Sizemore; son: Payton Ellis and girlfriend Marli Hatcher; grandson: Archer Sizemore; brothers: Ronald (Tiffany) Ellis, Ricky (Hope) Ellis; special aunts: Margaret Davis and Maxine Vest.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where special service will be held at 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dennis Lester and Rev. Cecil Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Justice Memorial Gardens, Justice, WV.

Eddie Ray will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Brad and Barrett Justice, Herman, Petey, Chase, and Isaiah Lester, Colton Roberts, Dylan McComas, John May, Eli Morgan, and Caleb Ellis.  Honorary pallbearers are: David Lester, Acie Cline, Scottie Morgan, David Vest, T.J. Lester, and Dalton McComas.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
