Edward Lee Grimmett

Edward Lee Grimmett, 75 of Gilbert departed this life Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from Logan Regional Hospital.

Born June 18, 1944 at Hampden, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Hatfield) Grimmett.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers: Landon, Harold and Harry Grimmett; grandson: Andreau Chapman Morgan.

Eddie was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He was a General Manager and Superintendent for Hampden Coal and International Industries.  He loved fooling around with older vehicles.  Eddie was of the Presbyterian Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his wife: Karen (Cline) Grimmett of Hampden; sons: Edmund (Kara) Grimmett of Gilbert and Andy (Julie) Grimmett of Beckley; his grandchildren: Madelyn, Jack and Ruby Grimmett, all of Beckley; brother: Lemuel (Doc) Grimmett of Hampden; special friend: Angie Morgan.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 6 to 9 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be Monday, February 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arville Cline officiating.  Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
