Emmett F. Browning, 71 of Clearfork, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 6th, 2020 from Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV.
He was born on April 25, 1949 at Verner, WV and was the son of the late Emmett and Olive Browning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Teddy R. Browning, Step-Son, Gregory Morgan, and his grand-daughter, Jessica McGlothlin.
Emmett was a proud Veteran of the US Army and attended the Promised Land Church of Oceana. He was also an avid hunter and collector of antique cars. Emmett will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, and devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Deborah (Hatfield) Browning; son: Todd (Angel) Browning of Browning Fork; daughters: Tina (Mark) Blankenship of Baisden and Adreana (Tony) Lester of Oceana; sisters: Sonja (Lonnie) Brown, Kay (Jay) Bryant, and Colleen (Rick) Mounts all of Gilbert; grandsons: Donovan Browning, Colton Blankenship, Remyngton Lester, Weston Lester, and Braxton Lester; granddaughters: Madison Morgan, Olivia Morgan, and RheaAnna Blankenship; step-grandson: Trevor Cline; and sister-in-law Sheila Browning. Emmett leaves behind a host of family and friends that he loved dearly.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the West Cemetery, Rockhouse Mountain, Simon, WV, where an outdoor funeral service will commence at 1pm with Pastor David Johnson officiating, his dear Friend, military Brother, and Pastor. Military rites will be provided by the Oceana VFW Post #8364.
Burial will follow at the West Cemetery.
Emmett will be carried to his burial place by family and friends.
