Erick Shawn (Big D) Cline

Erick Shawn “Big D” Cline, 48, of Baisden, WV, departed this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. 

Born on January 1, 1973 in Welch, WV he was the son of Rhonda (Cline) and Donnie West.  

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents: Ranse, Jr. and Donnie Cline; his father-in-law: Morris Hatfield; and many friends whom he considered family

Big D was a compassionate hunter and took great pride in running his beagles.  He enjoyed fishing with his son on the Kanawha River and helping him with his company, Mountain Man Trucking, LLC.  During the summer months, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson on long road trips with his loving wife and close friends.  He was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife: Greta Ann Cline; his son: Ranse (Amanda) Cline of Bull Creek, WV; his “Grand-dog”: Chloe Belle Cline; his parents: Donnie “Crockett” and Rhonda West of Baisden, WV; his sister: Leety Dawn (Glen) Beverly of Horsepen, WV; his loving niece: Morgan Liberty (Dalton) Lester of Nitro, WV; his Mother-in-law: Mary Kincaid and companion Bill Hooper of High Point, NC; two brothers-in-law and their families: Brett (Yesi) Hatfield, Austin Hatfield, Rebekah Hatfield, Sabrina Martinez, Britney Martinez and Layla Hatfield; Bart Hatfield, Joey Wolford, Nikki Ferrell and his grandchildren.  Three honorary children whom he loved as his own: Kaitlyn Ellis, Dillan Ellis and Caity Kennedy; and Jerzee Kennedy whom he treated as his granddaughter; one special little girl: MaLeah “Me” Cline; Special Uncle and Aunt: Eddie and Gay Chapman; a Special Lady: Lake Hopson; and special friend: Audrey Smith.  Big D also leaves behind a host of other dear family and friends that will always remember the impact he had on their lives.

Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6 – 9 PM at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel where funeral services will commence on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 1 PM with the Rev. Jones Trent officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cline cemetery at Spring Fork, WV.

Big D will be carried to his final resting place by pall bearers: Kevin Goad, Jimmy Trent, June Bug Bailey, Mark Cline, Tim Morrison, Jeremy May, Matt Kennedy, Eddy Joe Cline and Buck Cline.

Honorary pall bearers:  Dillan Ellis, Kenneth Blevins, Eddie Chapman, Percy Canterbury, Hunter Cline, Brett Hatfield, Glenn Beverly, Bobby New, Allen Cline, Kyle Wolford, Jeremy Cline, Joey Morgan, Rob Grimmett, Ezral Hatfield, David Breeding, Monroe Collins, Duke Trent, Michael P.
