Erma Cline Trent, 79, of Gilbert Creek, WV, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2025, while surrounded by the love of her daughters and husband. For 63 beautiful years. Born May 3, 1945, at Wharncliffe, WV she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Carrie (Trent) Cline.
In addition to her parents, Erma was also preceded in death by her precious sons Jimmy Joe and Edward Joe Trent, grandson Jarrod Trent, and siblings Kathleen Trent, Juanita Coleman, Ance, Willie Jean, and Edgar Cline.
Erma was married to the love of her life, Pastor Jonas “Joe Peck” Trent, who ensured that every desire of her heart was met and that she knew just how special she was to him, every single day. Their love was truly one to be admired and emulated. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended the Full Gospel Church of God of Baisden WV, where her husband Pastors.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Judy (Bill) Beard of Oxford NC, Joanna (Scott) Carter of Four Oaks NC, Deleta (Scott) Bray of Pipestem WV, grandchildren Christopher (Katosha) Noe, Alexandra (Dan) Etchberger, Heather (Randy) Easter, Christina (Jordan) Salmons, Justin “Bud” (Sheena) Bray, great-grandchildren Jaxton and Aidan Trent, Kolton and Karter Noe, Brelynn Etchberger, Brenden Gentry, Ayanna Canova, Amiya and Tayah Hood, Aleena and Mareyah Ferko, brother Rush (Hope) Cline, sisters Liza Trent, Mary (Bill) Hooper, Dorene Gillman, daughter-in-law, Annette Trent, dear friends Bobby and Nancy New and a host of additional relatives, friends, and loved ones who will miss her greatly.
Friends may gather with the family Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Full Gospel Church of God Church, at Baisden, WV where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastors Marvin Joe Bradford, Ralphy Manuel, and Learmon Mounts officiating. Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Garden Cemetery at Justice, WV.
Erma will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers Bobby New, Bud Bray, Jaxton Trent, Kolton Noe, Jordan Salmons, Christopher Noe, Michael Harris and Jordan Cline. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Easter, Herbie Ellis, Troy New, Learmon Mounts, Kermit Browning, Teddy New and Joe Dale New.
Erma will be fondly remembered for the priority she placed on her family, as she truly was the best wife, Momma, and Momaw in the world. Her kindness, love, sass, and humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Erma's niece and caregiver, with whom she shared a special bond, Kelley Ball. Kelley has been a true angel to the Trent family and could never be acknowledged enough for the commitment, kindness, and love shown to Erma throughout her illness. Additionally, the family would like to thank their church family, Doctor Jerome Cline, and the numerous community members who have been so faithful to Joe and Erma.
