Ernest Lee Cline 92 of Greenville, WV departed this life Thursday, June 3, 2021, from his son’s home in Benson, N.C.
Born on April 13, 1929, at Wharncliffe, he was the son of the late Burb and Sarah (Lockhart) Cline.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Martha (Billings) Cline; his daughter: Sherri Cline.
Ernest was a retired foreman for Norfolk and Southern Railroads. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He loved attending church when he was able to go, he had been a member of the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church since 1987.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his son: David (Tracey) Cline of Benson, N.C; granddaughter: Krystal Clark of Angier, N.C; grandson: Justin (Heather) Cline of Benson, N.C; great-grandchildren: Khileigh Rae and Bane Christopher, both of Angier, N.C. and Kasen Cline of Benson, N.C; close friend and companion: Janet Cline. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Monday, June 7, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel where funeral services will commence at 12:00 pm with Rev. Jonas Trent officiating. Entombment will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
Ernest will be carried to his resting place by David Cline, Joey Cline, Tracey Cline, Krystal Clark, Justin Cline and Heather Gibbs.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
