Forest New Jr.

Forest New Jr., 67 of Wayside, WV formerly of Baisden, departed this life on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from his residence.

Born September 3, 1950 at Ieager, WV he was the son of the late Forest and Ethel New.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Kathy New; brother: Willard New; and niece: Donna Sue Smith Lester.

Forest attended the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden.  He also enjoyed watching all kinds of races.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Forest and to mourn his passing include his three children: Forest Travis New of Wayside, Melissa (Rusty Lane) New of Marlinton, Danny New of Delaware; two grandchildren: Dakota New of Wayside and Autumn Lane of Marlinton; brother: Ralph (Dottie) New of Hinton; two sisters: Beatrice Smith of Baisden and Brenda (Randy) Layne of Baisden; many nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel from 12:00 – 2:00 pm with funeral services commencing at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Carl “Cab” Wolford officiating.

Burial will follow at New Cemetery at Baisden.

Forest will be carried to his final resting place by Travis New, Cody New, Randall New, Donavan New, Brandon Layne and Donald Smith.

Honorary pallbearers include: Randy Layne, Denny Smith, Randy Layne Jr., and John Kennedy.
