George Washington Rasnick

George Washington Rasnick 94, of Justice, WV departed this life on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from his residence.

Born December 9, 1927 in Pikeville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Garfield and Fannie May (Smith) Rasnick.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Betty Lou (Walker) Rasnick; 8 brothers: Glen, Fred, Herb, Johnnie, Lawrence, Bill, Clarence and Roy Rasnick; 2 sisters: Liddie Hall and Claudette Rasnick.

 George loved to fish, garden, ginseng, mow grass, watch wrestling on TV, and spend time with his family and friends. He dearly loved his dog, “Duke”.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his sons: Larry, Glen (Grizzly), Cortney, Stevie, and Roy Rasnick, all of Justice, WV; daughters: Gladys Rambo of Monroe County,  and Joann Adkins of Pikeville, Ky. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm.  at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, in Gilbert, WV.

Funeral services will commence on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 12:00 pm. with Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, WV. George will be carried to his final resting place by his grandsons and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
