Georgia E. (Lawrence) Browning, 85 of Gilbert, WV departed this life Saturday, August 28, 2021 from CAMC Memorial.
Born on July 22, 1936 at Guyan, WV she was the daughter of the late Bernie and Maggie (Hatfield) Lawrence.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years: John L. Browning; brothers: Norman and Herman Lawrence; sister: Judy Stacy.
Georgia was a kind and generous soul who just seemed to love everyone she met, and she was loved by all that knew her. She had a generosity that could not be contained, and she showed it in many ways. Constantly making afghans just so she could give them away; waving at cars from her front porch as people drove by; always wanting to give to anyone in need, whether it was money, food, or something entirely different.
Georgia had simple pleasures in life, such as puzzle books, gospel music and taking on all challengers in playing Dr. Mario on her old, beat-up Nintendo. Her church, Sprattsville Freewill Baptist, and her Ladies Circle were always a big part of her life. Her greatest pleasures in life were the Lord Jesus Christ and her family.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her children: Barbara (Thomas) Herczeg of Charlotte, NC, Kermit (Debbie) Browning, and Larry (Marie) Browning, all of Justice; grandchildren: Phillip (Carolyn) Robinson, Didena (Ken) Lester, Trampas (Christina) Browning, Joshua (Samantha) Browning, and Andrea Sloan; four great grandchildren; sister: Nancy (Tom) Molinaro of Washington, PA; brother: Leige Lawrence of Myrtle Beach, SC; a very special friend of 58 years, who was like her sister: Marie Walls. Georgia also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear friends that she has made on her journey.
Friends may gather with her family Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with services beginning at 7:00 pm with Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Cecil Johnson officiating. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Clyde Endicott officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.
Georgia will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Trampas, Phillip Jr, Josh, Bear, Kermit, and Ken. Honorary pallbearers are: Ed Twardy, Macky May, Michael Mounts, Bill Peak, Conley Goad, Tom Molanio, Joel Bruffey, and Mike Heath.
For everyone still here in this world, this is a sad occasion, but for Georgia, this is her introduction to eternity with her Lord and Savior, and a sweet reunion with the love of her life, her husband, John L. Georgia’s passing leaves a huge void in this world that will not easily be filled.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
The family requests that all who attend the services for Georgia, that wearing a face mask is required by all.
