Gerald Joe Lester

Gerald Joe Lester. 79 of Baisden, departed this life Thursday, November 28, 2019 from Pikeville Medical Center.

Born on January 18, 1940 at Hanover, he was the son of the late Armour and Ruth (Godfrey) Lester.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was also preceded in death by his daughter: Pamela Highlander.
Gerald was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his loving wife Myrtle Lester of Baisden; his children: Lynn (Johnny) Belcher of Delbarton, Russell (Vera) Lester of Gilbert Creek, Kearstin (James) Ratliff and Joseph (Kelly) Highlander, all of Verner; his sisters: Jean Allen of Justice, Linda Boldin of Glasgow, KY and Jewel Lively of Ikes Fork; brothers: Archie Lester of Jacksonville, NC, Michael (Reda) Lester of Harmony, NC, Jackie (Tonya) McBrayer of Williamson, Roger (Dorothy) Lester of Maryville, TN,  and Freddie Lester of Justice; his grandchildren: Gary (Natalie) Lester of Gilbert Creek, Jason (Melissa) Belcher, Skylar Belcher, Johnna Belcher and Haygan Belcher, all of Delbarton, Erika Ratliff and J.J. Ratliff, both of Verner; his very best friend: Jerry Rose.  He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

His loving smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.

To honor his wishes, his remains have been cremated.  A private service will be scheduled at a later date.
