Gleda (Walls) Layne

Gleda (Walls) Layne, 66 of Baisden, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV.  Born September 9, 1958, at Man, WV she was the daughter of the late Mary (Collins) and Arvil Walls.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother: Stevie Walls of Baisden, WV.

Gleda was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw.  She loved fishing, riding 4 wheelers, watching old tv shows, and spending time with loved ones.  She was a very kind, sweet, loving, caring person.  She loved her family unconditionally; her grandson Braylon was her greatest joy.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and mourn her loss are her husband of 36 years, Timmy Layne; son: Jonathan Layne, both of Baisden, WV; daughter: Amanda (Bruno) Cline and a very special grandson, Braylon Cline, all of Davin, WV; brother: Larry (Drema) Walls of Baisden, WV; sister-in-law: Debbie Walls.  She also leaves behind a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden, WV where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jonas “Joe Peck” Trent and assistant pastor Marvin Bradford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Layne Cemetery at Baisden, WV..

Gleda will be carried to her resting place by Bruno Cline, John Cline, Josh Walls, Jamie Lester, Edwin Walls, Franklin Cook, Billy Jack Ellis, and Timmy Ellis.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
